(ST. LOUIS, MO) Since 2008, Arch Rival Roller Derby has selected an area non-for-profit organization as their Charity Partner for their annual intraleague (local) campaign and has raised donations by holding raffle drawings at home track events.
For the 2017-18 season, Arch Rival Roller Derby is proud to announce the National Conference for Community and Justice of Metropolitan St. Louis (NCCJ St. Louis) Anytown Youth Leadership Institute as their Charity Partner.
Since 1930, the NCCJ St. Louis has promoted understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures through their advocacy and educational programs that embrace diversity, self-awareness and community-wide change.
According to the NCCJ St. Louis website, the Anytown Youth Leadership Institute is an eight-day, residential program for high-school-aged youth. Anytown’s goal is to prepare youth to be effective leaders and change agents who are dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and oppression.
The upcoming Anytown institute is scheduled for June 24-July 1, 2018 at the campus of St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Participants are 15-18 years of age and are enrolled in ninth through eleventh grade. Approximately fifty participants will attend the institute and people of all racial, religious, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, class, cultural, physical ability, and other identity groups were encouraged to apply.
Monies raised during the ARCH raffle drawings will help offset costs to Anytown participants, such as tuition, lodging, food and program materials.
Again this season, the charity raffle drawings will consist of a 50/50 cash split. Fifty percent of the donations on game night go directly to Anytown while the other half goes directly to the patron that possesses the winning ticket.
On game nights, raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each or six tickets for $5.
ARCH hopes that you’ll support our Charity Partner for the 2017-18 season, the NCCJ St. Louis Anytown Youth Leadership Institute, and their efforts of creating a society based on inclusion, trust and mutual respect.
