Arch Rival Roller Derby’s B-Team, the Saint Lunachix, will be hosting a musical fundraiser on Saturday, May 20 in downtown St. Louis to help assist their travel efforts for the remainder of the year.
Four artists will perform at the 8:30 p.m. event held at FOAM (2259 South Jefferson, St. Louis, MO). Although there is no cover for the evening, a donation of $5-10 is encouraged.
The Saint Lunachix competed at the Big O invitational earlier this month and will continue their 2017 docket in contests against the b-teams of Nashville (TN) in June, Minnesota (MN) in July and Jacksonville (FL) in August. The Chix competed at the 2016 WFTDA B-Team Championships last October and finished seventh in the global tournament, which marked a new benchmark for the squad.
Here is the line-up of artists for the May 20 Lunachix fundraiser:
Mirror, Mirror. Highlighted as one of the “STL 77″ by the Riverfront Times earlier this year, the trio released their first entry, Extra Credit, in April 2016, which the RFT considered “some of the best dirty-pop punk rock St. Louis has seen in a minute.” The publication considered the end result “a lo-fi masterpiece.”
Wax Fruit. The local duo produces “reverb-drenched, noisy dance pop for the nuclear age” and plans on bringing their “electronic body music” to the forefront.
Fragile Farm. Defined as “freak-folk,” Fragile Farm is a FOAM fixture.
Brett Conlin. The Illinoisan is best classified as “Alt-Country” but he refuses to be placed into categories. He spins yarns about “hopping trains and leaving town.”
Please join us on Saturday, May 20 at FOAM for a great night of music that helps benefit ARCH’s Saint Lunachix!
