Primed For Playoffs, A Look At The ARCH All-Stars’ Home Undefeated Streak

In anticipation of the Arch Rival All-Stars’ upcoming appearance at the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) Division 1 playoff round in Madison, Wisconsin later this month, let’s look at a continuing benchmark for the St. Louis-based franchise.

Since Arch Rival moved to its current residence at Midwest Sports Hockey in Ballwin, Missouri, the A-team has never lost a WFTDA-sanctioned game at home…ever.

Beginning with a May 2011 win over Ohio, the All-Stars have accumulated a 21-0 sanctioned record and, combined with a non-sanctioned victory over Naptown in June 2015, have posted 22 straight at Queeny Park.

This current home win streak includes ARCH’s three-game sweep at June’s Sibling Rivalry invitational over Division 1 powerhouses Atlanta, Jacksonville and Denver.

Arch Rival, currently ranked eighth internationally by the WFTDA, is the second seed for the Division 1 playoff round held at Madison September 23-25. ARCH (10-0) and plays in the quarterfinals on Friday, September at 8 p.m. against the winner of the No Coast/Madison play-in game held earlier that day.

ARCH reached the WFTDA Division 1 Championships for the first time ever in league history last year and eyes another trip. If they claim one of the three top spots in Madison, they will advance to the governing bodies’ finale, held in Eugene, Oregon in November.
